Saltire Awards is the Scottish Government’s national youth volunteer awards. They celebrate, recognise and reward the commitment, contribution and achievements of young volunteers in Scotland, aged between 12 and 25. Saltire Awards is delivered in each local authority area by the local Third Sector Interface(TSI).

There are four types of Awards available:

  • The Challenge recognises one – off event events and is an ideal introduction to Volunteering.
  • The Approach recognises placements of 10 or 25 hours.
  • The Ascent recognises sustained volunteering with certificates available for 50, 100, 200 and 500 hours.
  • The Summit Award is given for outstanding contribution to volunteering nominated by either a local support worker, teacher, organisation or friend.
