Fair Work in the Voluntary Sector Survey

The Scottish Centre for Employment Research (University of Strathclyde) has been commissioned by Glasgow Council for the Voluntary Sector, Highland Third Sector Interface and The Robertson Trust to undertake research that maps the extent of fair work in Scotland's voluntary sector and identifies the opportunities and challenges for employers in delivering fair work.

This survey should be completed by anyone who is a paid worker in the voluntary (or third) sector. Your participation in this survey is crucial to providing a full picture of fair work experiences from which to develop practice and policy, and to having your views and experiences heard.

The Scottish Government is working to make Scotland a Fair Work nation. Fair work is defined by the Fair Work Convention's Fair Work Framework (2016) and you will be asked questions about your experiences of five dimensions of fair work:

  • Opportunity - to access and progress in work and employment;
  • Security - of employment, work, hours and income;
  • Fulfilment - work that is fulfilling, meaningful and uses your skills and talents;
  • Respect - for your health and safety, contribution and work life balance;
  • Effective Voice - your views are sought out, listened to and can make a difference

We value your time in completing the survey and any help you can give to share it across your organisation and partners.

Please click the following link to complete the survey by 30th November 2022.
