Wednesday the 26th October 2022 saw TSI North Ayrshire hosting our first in person networking event since pre pandemic times.  The event was arranged to celebrate some of the great work achieved with the funding distributed as part of Year 1 of the Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund, as well as to launch the application process for Year 2.

Fullarton Community Hub, a year 1 fund recipient, hosted the event, which saw close to 70 colleagues from third sector groups and organisations across North Ayrshire, as well as partners from the HSCP and North Ayrshire Council, come together to talk about some of the key challenges being faced within our communities and how we, as a collective, might be able to help.

In addition to the great discussion and raft of ideas and feedback we were able to collect, which we plan to share in due course, we were also treated to a very entertaining and fun session from Drum4urlife, who created an amazing atmosphere and warmed everyone up nicely.  Drum4urLife were funded in Year 1 and meet weekly in Ardrossan to create music together. With the funding, they have been able to create a bank of instruments and build capacity, by developing a training programme for current members to become workshop assistants and facilitators, to provide further community outreach workshops.  If you’d like to find out more about them, email tommy@drum4urlife.co.uk.

One thing that was very clear and echoed by everyone in attendance was that there needs to be more opportunities like this, to get people and groups together in person who share a common goal and are interested in working collaboratively to benefit the people in their communities.

Thank you to everyone who came along.  We will be working to arrange a follow up event in the new year, so watch this space!  In the meantime, we look forward to receiving all the Year 2 applications for the Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund, (closing date Friday 18th November at 3pm).
