A huge thank you to everyone who came along to the day either as a stall holder or visitor.

Last Saturday 27th April saw the second Free For All community event which brought together local services, community groups and the general public in a free event showcasing free taster sessions and activities available on Arran. The day, which was also an opportunity for the public to meet some of Arran’s community groups and discover volunteering opportunities, saw fire engines, sporting activities, ebikes, yoga, massage, drumming, face painting, arts and crafts, the library bus and general health checks just to name a few. Catering was provided by Arran Eco Savvy by way of their Zero Waste Café, this complemented the sandwich and cake buffet (funded by North Ayrshire Council and ourselves) and was enhanced by the community sharing food provided by the groups and organisations in attendance. It’s difficult to know full attendance numbers as people came and went many times during the event but we had catered for more than 250 people and with the community sharing food and Zero Waste café, we estimate that around 300 members of the community attended the day. The weather was very kind to us, the sun shone all day, meaning we saw families sitting outside on the grass eating lunch and enjoying the outdoor activities. We were lucky enough to be treated to performances from the Arran Choir and the Arran Pipe Band who kept us entertained.

We look forward to welcoming you back next year, where we will celebrate our 60th anniversary on Saturday 26th April.
