Fairtrade Fortnight on Arran 27th February - 6th March 2010

Fairtrade Fortnight 2010 has again seen the island's school children involved in creative ways of raising local awareness of Fairtrade.

Along with local woodcarver and artist Marvin Elliott, the children have created figures which represent nations involved in the production and trading of Fairtrade goods.

The number of businesses and organisations involved in Fairtrading is increasing. To find out more about becoming involved, go to the Fairtrade on Arran site.

The kids of the island's primary schools were given the rare chance to really go bananas at school during Fairtrade's campaign to raise awareness of the benefits of Fairtrading.

Dr Graham Tinto, one of the founder members of Fairtrade on Arran, took to the road with bananas and educational information for the next generation of responsible consumers. For more about Fairtrade, click this link to their website
