Fairtrade Fortnight

This year's theme is The Big Swap. Consumers will be encouraged, through some fun-packed and unusual promotional events, to consider swapping their usual choice of product for a Fairtrade one. Events will include a Fairtrade 'Big Brew' coffee morning in Whiting Bay Church on Saturday 27th February from 10.30am to midday, where products, ideas on Fairtrade living and a Traidcraft stall will all be available. At the Brodick Co-op on Saturday 6th March, the creations of local artist Marvin Elliot and the island's primary school children will be on show, to help remind customers of the diversity of Fairtrade products. If you want more information about all things Fairtrade, check out the Fairtrade website, or come along to the events and speak to the enthusiastic local organisers.

If you'd like to become involved in the North Ayrshire Public Partnership Forum, go to the "Involving You" pages on the NHS Ayrshire & Arran website.

Rural Policy
SCVO’s Rural Policy work seeks to influence decision makers and policymaking whether within government, the public sector, the voluntary sector or beyond. This work supports ongoing activities to increase understanding of rural voluntary organisations, support their growth and improvement, provide information to assist them and raise the profile of the rural issues with which they deal. Recent work has included input to the reform of the CAP and the Scottish Rural Development Strategy.  For more information see www.scvo.org.uk/scvo/PolicyAndParliament/PolicIssues.aspx
